1. How this field trip has changed my perspective about Environments?
2. Since you commenced this unit, describe the ways in which your own perspective has changed regarding the environment you studied.
My perspective towards the environment of Kampung Naga didn’t really change after I visited the place during the field trip. Before visiting Kampung Naga I thought that it was a Kampung where no one uses any electricity, a clean kampung, and a traditional kampung. When I visited Kampung Naga, most of my perspectives were came true. The only one that wasn’t right was that the people there don’t use any electricity, and that everything would be very dark during the night. I also thought that the food wouldn’t be that delicious. However when I visited Kampung Naga the people that have enough money in the village do own TV’s and other electronic equipment. They don’t use any electricity, but use batteries in fact. Also in the night it would be very dark outside, however inside the house it wouldn’t be that dark since they use oil lamps to provide light in the night. Also the food there is delicious, and even better then the food at school. So I think that Kampung Naga’s environment is a good environment, since the people there don’t destroy or threaten the natural environment, and because of that they aren’t threaten by nature itself. I am also impressed that most of my expectations came true. Overall I find that the village is a green village, which is good, and am quite impressed with the way they decided live, however there are several questions that counter their ways of living. Such as: …..
Though the villagers of kampung Naga don't use any electricity. They decided to use batteries instead. A good alternative, but the problem is, is that it produces waste materials. They also use oil lamps during the night, which might be slightly better then lamps, but burning fossil fuels results in releasing carbon emissions. Also rather then using batteries, the villagers could of build a hydro electric plant at the river located right in front of their river, providing electricity for the village without causing any carbon emissions released into the air.
3. Why is it important to understand how different people perceive the environment? Clue: our perceptions lead to our decisions…
The people of Kampung Naga depend on their resources, and their village for income. They depend on the tourist that visit the village to see the nice clean village of kampung Naga, they depend on all agricultural products that they grow for food, and depend on the clean water systems so that their fish could live. Also all of these aspects help them to earn money. Because their system is so balanced in Kampung Naga. The people their would get a adequate amount of income for their daily needs. If for example the people throw to much garbage into their fish pools, the fish would die, and tourist might not visit the village again. This would result into them having a decrease in their income. This is why the people in kampung Naga are very careful in the environment they live in, and threat it with care. That's why we too should live a life similar to theirs since our surrounding environment also affects the way we live. I am aware that trees are very important for us, that's a reason why I have more then 5 big trees planted in my front garden. Besides that I am also aware that throwing garbage everywhere isn't good, since it is not good for the environment we live in, and shows that we aren't clean people, or civilized.
4. How might your lifestyle and actions impact on your local environment and the global environment?
Today I live a life of an average person. I sort of waste some energy from all the lights I turn on, and also waste a lot of fuel, which I use everyday to go to school, or back. If I lived nearer to school I would cause less harm to nature, since I would burn less fossil fuels in order to get to school. Also since the temperatures are usually very cool in the mountains I might also not use a AC at night, and use the cool night air instead. Another thing that I should do in order to be more eco friendly is by turning of lights, that aren't needed. I think that I am already quite energy efficient since I use lightbulbs that are eco-friendly, and have a durability of 15 years. Besides that my family only consist of 4 members, meaning that we produce a smaller carbon footprint. Since if our family has more family members it usually means that we would have a larger carbon footprint, and at the same time harm more of the natural environment.

5. What does the Bible say about how mankind ought to relate to the environment?
Genesis 1:28 ESV / 37 helpful votes, And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
According to the Bible we were made, and placed on this world for a reason, not just to sit around, and waste time. But to do things with our surrounding environment. The Bible also says that we should take good care of our environment, and Gods creations, and not destroy to much of it. The Bible also says that we humans are responsible for taking care of our beautiful world, that God has created for us. I don't think that only the Bible says this, but also other holy books from other religions.
I think that our world today has forgotten the main reason why we have been created. I think that I should do more activities with the surrounding environment, since usually what I do today is stay inside. I would want to achieve the goal by doing more activities with the surrounding environment by being not being lazy, and being willing to do what I should do.
An objection on the Bible verse is that in the Bible it says that we should multiply in numbers. This describes that the human raise should expand. Nowadays it isn't really a good thing for us as humans to increase in numbers, since if we do. Then there are more people that would need more space for living. Resulting in, making us destroy more of the natural environment.
6. How might you change your lifestyle and actions based on new perceptions of the environment?
After visiting Kampung Naga, and going on the fieldtrip. I have learned that it is important to inherit traditions, and our cultures, so that they wouldn’t become extinct in the future. I have also learned that we should live in harmony in nature, and not cause to much damage to nature. Since if we live in harmony with nature, nature wouldn’t cause any problems to us. I am going to change several things in my life now after the field trip. Such as saving energy by turning off non-needed lights, saving water, and use my car efficiently. By doing these things I would not cause too much damage to nature, and be more efficient with what I have.
