Quarter 2
This quarter in PHE, we started learning about the bad effects of smoking, as well as tobacco chewing, and how dangerous it really could be to our own health. We learned about how the smoking and tobacco chewing is a huge problem around the world, why it is a difficult problem to stop, and what the compositions are of a cigarette. We also discussed how this problem could end, and several solution that could be used to bring a person out of the dangerous and deadly habit.

Anti Smoking and Tobacco Chewing Brochure
My chosen work for this quarter in PHE, is my brochure I have produced about the dangers of smoking, and tobacco chewing, as well as what its solutions would be. In this assignment we had to create a normal sized brochure, and discuss the problem as well as the solution. We had to put at least a title page, a section for reference, as well as a part for tips to quit inside it, and had 3-4 other pages free for any necessary information to put in. I chose this as my most successful sample of work this quarter, not for the actual reason that its successful. Since I got the same grade for my other assignment, which was playing volleyball, but because of the reason that I learned very much about this assignment, and could still learn a lot about it for the future. Things that I did successful during this assignment, was to provide very informative, and justified information in the brochure, that was nicely presented. Making it easier for the reader to follow, as well as understand the information presented. I also had an advantage on this topic, as I had already gone for a anti-smoking campaign against my auntie, who smokes, and always try to prevent her from putting in the cigarette bud in the mouth, by simply snatching it out and throwing it far away where she can't find it. I also know what the bad effects from smoking are, and have researched about this topic earlier, providing me with pre-information about the topic. This allowed me to know what to write in the brochure, and to know what was necessary, as well as to write it in a more structured way. Improving the quality of the information presented, as the reader would be easy to follow. Leading to my initial predicted success.
The assignment was based on Criteria A, which is focused on our knowing and understanding of the topic. I was able to conduct the criteria very well in most areas, as I already understood an knew a lot about the problem of smoking, as well as tobacco chewing, and that it has harmful effects on the human body. I also understand that its a bad addiction, and would be difficult to stop, though that there are methods of quitting the dangerous addiction. However though I had a vast range of information available for me, as well as the ability to create a nice brochure. I had made one very regrettable mistake, I still feel so bad for now, as it was a very silly mistake as well. That mistake was to add a section for Bahasa Indonesia, which brought everything down the drain. The section completely destroyed my spelling and grammar criterion, due to the many Indonesian language mistakes I had made, and decreased my grade drastically. This could of been simply avoided, if I would have listened to the instructions more carefully. That stated that we had to create two English brochures, or one English brochure, and the other in Bahasa. Which I thought was to make two English brochures, with one having a Bahasa Indonesia section. If I would have used my common sense earlier, I would have known that something was wrong with what I heard, however I didn't and my grade went down. I could simply improve this silly mistake next time, by listening more carefully to the instructions, as well as double checking them with friends, before submitting the assignment. As I never would like to face such shame, and humiliation in the future ever again.
The key concept this quarter for PHE was communications. We developed our understanding of the key concept, as our main topic this quarter was the dangers of smoking, and tobacco chewing. Our job was to create a brochure, that was able to teach and give people the understanding of its dangers, as well as solutions to the problem. The brochures were also a tool to raise awareness, and as well communicate the problem effectively to others, by creating a good interactive and informative brochure. By learning how to create a good brochure that was able to convey the message effectively, we were able to increase our understanding of the key concept how to develop a good way to communicate the message of the dangers of smoking and tobacco chewing.
