Drama
Yearly Goal: To enhance the ability of expressing myself, and becoming more confident in doing so. At the end of Q4 no grades shall be below 6.
Quarter 2
This quarter in drama we started developing and turning our movie from the script into the storyboard, into the shooting of the scenes. The movie itself was based on a traditional story of Indonesia, which was mashed up with a movie, ours being Star Wars Episode III. The going wasn't that easy and we soon started facing a lot of problems in planning, due to the lack of a well developed story board, as well as a lack of organization in props, scene direction, and costumes.

Logbook Enteries
Though I and the crew for the movie I was working with struggled a lot in making the movie. I through the mistakes I had made, was able to write good and analytical journal entries of the progress we made each week on our film. In these entries I reflected on what we did to make the shooting possible, as well as explain what went wrong, and could have been improved the next time. I think that my journal entries were the best sample of my work this quarter, as this was by far the only thing this quarter I was able to do properly, and actually finish each time on the due date. As for the film, the lack of organization, made it difficult for us to shoot the scenes time efficiently, forcing us to postpone the due date of our film. This lowered our grades. However with these mistakes made in the direction of the film, I was able to reflect them in my journal, and analyze the mistakes, to see what to improve better next time.
Our reflections were primarily based on Criteria D, which is the Criteria for reflection in drama. The criteria is based on being able to reflect well on ones actions, primarily themselves, and being able to analyze what went right, and wrong, and afterwards being able to develop relevant testing methods to conduct next time in order to improve. I overall was able to reflect very well on the mistakes I made in drama film shooting. As there were often many mistakes. Through my journals, I was able to as well show good analysis of my work, showing the pros and cons of the week. It even became an example of for the class, on how to write good reflections. Though sometimes even in my reflections I had made mistakes that I could improve next time. Such as sometimes only repeating the same things within the reflection, and explaining what has been done, without clarifying what went well or wrong. This sometimes happened because of the fact that I didn't think to deeply in that week on what to reflect, and sometimes even lost the definition what it meant to reflect on work. However this problem was quickly solved, as this mistake happened during the 2nd week of shooting, in which my 1st week shooting reflection was much better. Using the 1st week shooting reflection, as well as the other reflections as samples to produce better reflections for the third week and so on.
The key concept we focused on this quarter was Change. What it meant by change was to be able to observe how something changes from one form to the other. This is the key concept of this quarter in drama, as we had to change the form of the movie from a script, into a storyboard, into scenes we were able to shoot with a camera for the real movie. For this change to happen we had to plan on what was necessary for the change to take place. Such as seeing what shots were necessary to emphasize certain parts written in the script, and by drawing those angles and shots on the storyboard, in order for us to shoot. We also had to consider the props, and costumes required to shoot. So that the movie was able to change from a script, into a more realistic movie, where the props and costumes bring it to life.
